Fundraising Tips & Tools

Your Fundraising Page

When you register as a host, a personal fundraising page will be created for you. For help setting up your page, view our handy User Guide here. Share your fundraising page with your guests via social media, email, text message and WhatsApp, and ask your friends and family to register for your Feast and donate directly on your fundraising page. Funds raised on your fundraising page will be transferred directly to the ASRC.

You’re also able to download a personalised poster with a unique QR code to your fundraising page which you can display at your Feast to collect last minute donations.

Getting Started

Make a donation to yourself – the first donation is the most important, your supporters will look at this to determine how much to donate. It will also show that you’re dedicated to the cause!

Resources

We have plenty of images and videos you can share on social media, and some suggested wording to use when emailing friends asking for support. You can download them here.

Don’t forget to tell your guests about the impact of their donation and share the stories of this year’s cooks and our members so they can see where the funds go and what their support makes possible.

Offline

Want to raise funds offline and collect cash donations? No problem, simply request donation boxes by emailing us at feastforfreedom@asrc.org.au and we’ll post them to you. These boxes can be displayed at your Feast and then you can deposit the funds raised via your fundraising page, or bank transfer.

Diversify

You can add extra elements to your Feast like a raffle, sweepstake or game to boost your fundraising.

Tips from Previous Hosts

If you plan to host a large event with your community group, workplace or hospitality venue, here are some extra suggestions:

  • Host a ticketed event where the guests pay a set price which covers both your costs and a donation to Feast for Freedom. If required, you can manage this through a ticketing website like Eventbrite, Humanitix or Try Booking and transfer the proceeds to your Feast fundraising page.
  • On the day have QR codes for your fundraising page on display so guests and their plus ones can see how your fundraising is tracking and add an extra donation to help you towards your target!
  • At your venue, offer an exclusive Feast for Freedom item to sell for the day, donating all or a portion of proceeds. Or dedicate a portion of sales from a sitting/day, to donate.
