Our Cairns Cookbook Club is fundraising for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre 🧡
We’re hosting a Feast for Freedom this April to provide people seeking asylum with access to the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia.
This is a meal that makes a difference and we’re inspired by the special recipes gifted by refugees that are taken from their own cultural traditions.
We recommend each person donates at least the equivalent of what they would spend on a night out in a restaurant. Every dollar raised will go towards essential advocacy, food, housing and health services to refugees and people seeking asylum. All funds are donated directly to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. Come join us at Brinsmead Community Centre at 6pm, April 14. If you’d like to contribute a plate, please contact one of the Cookbook Club members who will be able to coordinate the recipe for you. Otherwise, come for an evening of food, sharing, discussion and to support our cause!
