Tok Panjang
'Tok Panjang' (Bahasa Melayu) literally translates to 'long table' in English. It is a traditional celebratory way of eating up and down the Malay Peninsula.
This year we want to do our part in making a difference by building a longer table through fundraising for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).
We will be doing this by hosting a Feast for Freedom this March to provide people seeking asylum with access to the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia.
This is a meal that makes a difference and we are inspired by the special recipes gifted by refugees that are taken from their own cultural traditions. Every dollar we raise will go to the ASRC so they can provide essential food, housing and health services to refugees and people seeking asylum.
