Helping to go from famine to feast - or at least a meal! Here is a start..

I’m making a difference fundraising for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).

I’m doing this by hosting a Feast for Freedom this March to provide people seeking asylum with access to the essential services they need to rebuild their lives in Australia.

This is a meal that makes a difference and I’m inspired by the special recipes gifted by refugees that are taken from their own cultural traditions. Every dollar I raise will go to the ASRC so they can provide essential food, housing and health services to refugees and people seeking asylum.

The plight of refugees all over the world is dire, and only we, the people of the world, can make their conditions better. ASRC assists refugees in Australia, and I hope you feel as I do, that we need to ensure those who have survived the journeys to arrive here are able to start a new and more settled life.

Please make a donation to help me reach my goal.

Thank you.

Great friends and food at Feast#2!

Sunday 17th Mar
Such a lovely way to fund-raise! Generous and thoughtful friends who will love the Feast no matter what, and have deep discussions as well as fun! The weather was cool instead of last weeks heat, so we all squeezed around the table and ate and talked mightily. And now of course, the time comes to act. Thank you to everyone who has ( and maybe others who can still donate!) helped reach the target. Duubling it would be fun!

One dinner down!

Tuesday 5th Mar
Our Monday Book Club plus friends had a spirited evening with great talk ( the FoodThought cards are great conversation starters) and delicious food. The recipes in the book certainly make planning the feast easy.
Discussing real issues over dinner was stimulating, and even though we've spent many years talking about many issues, we all learnt more about each other, as well as how little we really knew or understood the perilous conditions of being a refugee.
Would you believe we talked so much we forgot to take any photographs? You'll have to imagine the animation and the sights and aromas of the feast.
If you haven't yet hosted or attended a Feast for Freedom, I'd urge you to check out what's happening near you. Oh, and give a donation to ASRC while you are thinking about it.
Cheers,
Ros
